The Keg Steakhouse + Bar in Montreal

Came here for a nice dinner before a night out of drinking for my bachelor party. Patrick and Kevin took great care of us and the food was spectacular.

They make the best steak in Montreal....The service is so nice.....waiters are very nice..and the ambience is also very good

The food was good, bathroom was clean. I did not realize (since we were busy talking) but was told that the food came in late so we got desserts for free, and also the shrimp cocktail was free for our first visit all offered from a staff who looked like a manager.The only thing I disliked was the attitude of the waiter, he seemed friendly at the beginning but his attitude completely changed once it got busy. I understand busy environment can be stressful, (I guess it didn't help that we changed reservation time last minutes, and food coming late) but still no customers need to leave feeling like a nuisance.

Our waitress was super nice. We explained that were just visiting Canada for the first time and shortly after another employee came by with a complimentary shrimp cocktail appetizer and welcomed us to the area. Food was great. I had the prime rib...a little smaller than the usual but had a lot of flavor. My wife had a steak dish, it was amazing. Overall a good experience with very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely try it again!

Nice Keg location right downtown in Montreal. Location is kept clean and the staff are all nice and service was fast and friendly. It is a decent steak house for the price.

Great place as all The Keg I've visited. Intimate atmosphere add superb food and service! Of course it's not cheap, but then again the quality warrants the price. Had king crab and steak, then crème brûlée. Loved every mouthful!

As a first experience, I wasn't sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of service and food. Music was a little loud, but tolerable. The waitress was smiley and kind all through the service and our food was cooked just right and well seasoned. Their specials are worth the try and you'd get your money's worth. Would definitely recommend.

Love food here, high quality and good portion. Customer service was very professional. The restaurant has a harmonious and luxury atmosphere with affordable price for steak and seafood. Everything is very clean. Highly recommend!!!

This is one of the best places to have dinner in Montreal. With multiple locations around the city, this one in particular is pretty big and they accommodate us (with a reservation) even though we were 12. The steaks look really yummy and the prime rib is cooked to medium rare perfection in the oven for five hours. Will definitely come back. The staff is really nice as well and they took great care of us.

Very impressive steak house! Professional, friendly, amazing service. Complementary items if your table is a little late. Nice decor and vibe. Very good steaks and a large selection of dishes. The steaks came hot, tasty, and done according to taste. Definitely recommend!

First time in was a great experience. Waiter was helpful and entertaining. Solid steaks and decent sides. Giving the/an extra star as this was a brilliant sendoff for latest visit to the city.

Nice and cozy place, good food and great service. Everything was on point, no long wait time, the staff were friendly and on the ball!!! I would recommend it for a romantic dinner or dinner with friends

The food was amazing and so was the service. Lobster and steak were cooked to perfection. The French onion soup was amazing. Calamari was melting in the mouth. Overall loved it!

Always a great time, staff are fast, friendly and efficient.Food is always hot and prepared with care.If there's any issues no matter how small or large, the staff go above and beyond to make sure you're happy.If you're considering going during peek hours, it may be advisable to get a reservation in advance, especially with limited seating right now.

Very good steak and the food quality is also great. Ambiance is very nice. My only negative feedback is that I found the portions to be a bit small.

Overall decent place. I had lobster tails and it wasn’t spectacular. Service was good. They had a decent menu selection, but can’t really say it was impressive. I did expect better quality food. I honestly would have preferred Red Lobster.

They made my anniversary date with my hubby just perfect!!!! Great service and of course the food was amaizing!!! recommended 3000 :)

If you're in downtown Montreal and looking for a nice restaurant, this would be a good choice. It has a really nice ambiance and it also has a bat section. The food is made of quality ingredients and it's very good. It's mainly a steakhouse but you also have other varieties such tartar, ribs and burgers. The service is very professional and the kitchen is fast. I was there on a busy lunch during the holiday rush. The restaurant was full and we got are dishes without much delay. It's very well managed.

We love this place.Here you can really feel they train the waiting staff to care about customers, they have been super nice every single time we’ve been there.Food is consistently good.Drinks are great (really enjoy the rum punch).Keg specials: Steak+Salad are very filling, they don’t mind if you ask for subs here and there.Once they gave us free desserts and à profusely (we would even say unnecessary) apology by the manager because they brought us the next table’s order by mistake. We’ve been to a few Kegs, this one is the best hands down.

Nice experience went for a business lunch was packed and we had no RSVP. They managed to get us to sit on the bar which was ok with me. Food was great even if we were going for a light lunch.

Part of a chain. Good food. Occasionally creative. I had an excellent piece of salmon (I'm not a steak eater) while my husband enjoyed a steak cooked "Chicago style " - charred on the outside, medium on the inside. It was a pleasant meal but a bit pricey, as most steakhouses are. Their bar did not have the ingredients to make either of the first two classic cocktails I requested, which surprised me.

Two guests (myself included) had allergies and I was very impressed with the level of detail demonstrated by the waitstaff with regards to our restrictions. They checked with the kitchen to validate whether certain foods contained the allergen; they advised as to potential cross-contamination with certain items and suggested different menu items, and lastly, when they brought out the meal, they repeated the allergen, which assured me that it was top of mind. In addition to the attention to detail, the food was delicious and the experience for our group was delightful! We were served by Vanessa and Alphonzo; thank you for the great service!

I’m writing to talk about my experience at the keg yesterday night. The food, the ambiance, the service was excellent. But at the end of the dinner an issue happened. I know mistakes are humans and things like that could happen but I wish It didn’t because it ruined my night.I’ll tell you what happened: after finishing dinner we asked for deserts. The waiter brought the deserts with spoons. And I started eating. Then I noticed a weird feeling on the spoon. I took it out from my mouth just to find out that the spoon ( the back of it so I didn’t see it) had Food stick on it. So clearly I got a very dirty spoon. The waiter apologized for the mistake. I know things like that could happen but Also more attention should be paid to these kind of mistakes specially coming from a well know and reputable restaurant like the keg because I don’t think it’s a horrible feeling to know that you used a dirty spoon.

Always delicious steak and the starters are excellent.

Great food. Don't overcook your steak. Servers overwhelmed at busy times but always nice. Book big tables well in advance.

The greeting staffs are great and extremely helpful. The server was very accommodating to our demands. The food was absolutely fantastic and all was gone from the plates. I enjoyed the outside dining as the sun subsides and retired for day. All good food must come to its end; reluctantly I pushed through the revolving entrance/exit door heading out back into the mainstream of pedestrian traffic. Thanks you Keg.

Beautiful cozy place, EXCELLENT, well informed, patient and helpful staff.The stakes are exquisite. The best we’ve had so far in Canada. Totally worth the price.Stakes were perfectly marinated and cooked exactly as much as we asked. Ask for Annie C.She’s great.If you want a good stake, I would definitely suggest this place.

First I have to say the staff here is amazing and our server must have the patience of a saint. She was in the middle of of having two very difficult tables and was still giving us amazing service. On to the food. The fried cauliflower is my absolute favorite. My wife had a half lobster and filet. I had a NY strip. We ended with some decadent cheesecake. We will definitely recommend the keg and will also be back.

Had a wonderful lunch here on a sunny Friday afternoon. The terrace is really nice and is well isolated from the construction right out front. The inside is very dark so I do recommend eating outside if you can. I ordered the steak (it is a steakhouse) and got it medium rare, it was pretty good! It was well seasoned and was the perfect size for my lunch appetite (6oz). I got a caesar salad on the side and it was just ok. My friend ordered the tuna tartar (usually a entree but you can get a meal version) and it was delicious! I will be getting that next time for sure. It comes with lots of avocado and some cute chips to dip. The only downside is the service, it is so slow. Their lunch crowd was pretty much gone by the time I went (1pm) so not sure why it was so slow to get the menus, order, get the food, and pay.

They're trying their best to maintain distancing with their tabling and service. Props for that. Had the Keg Burger and sweet potato French fries, tastes great. The daiquiri and Pina colada is also amazing!

Delicious dinner and great service. Unfortunately salad had yucky lettuce. They said they would Comp us but final bill had nothing comped - not even coffee! Also waiter had trouble processing our gift cards despite mentioning from beginning ... a bit of a bad end to a nice evening.

Had a great time last night for an anniversary. Kevin our server was friendly, knowledgeable, provided great insight, and was very patient. Our food took a bit longer than expected but then we were offered dessert to apologize for the wait. It was completely unexpected but incredibly appreciated. Will be back here.

The best meal I've ever had at a restaurant. Everything is cooked to perfection and well marinated, that you don't need to add salt and pepper to anything. The filet mignon is so succulent and juicy that it melts in your mouth. The staff is really friendly and u get served with a smile on your face. Whether you wanna go just for a drink or to try their steaks etc, I highly recommend going.

It is an excellent place to enjoy a juicy steak with a comfortable atmosphere! The personal is very helpful and nice. It took a bit to deliver our food, but, the place was really crowded. It was my birthday, so at the moment that the waiter found out about our celebration, he brought a jumbo piece of chocolate ice cream cake for me. It was a great experience and planning to go back again :) The photos of the food talk by themselves.

Excellent food, reasonable prices and wonderful staff. Came here for my birthday dinner and not only did this place not disappoint, it was a lovely experience. The appetizers were nicely portioned. (Brie platter, bacon wrapped scallops and fried cauliflower reccomended.) The entrées were great. Steak and lobster was phenomenal, the blue rare temperature was lovely. The halibut was overcooked, but they corrected their error kindly and swiftly and took a cocktail off the bill to compensate. Our server Randy was the best, he even brought me a mocha ice cream cake for my birthday.

Considering the price, this is one of the best steak house you can go in Montreal. No dressing code, very casual place. Steak is well cooked, starter is delicious and the staff is one of the best I've ever met. Very caring and professional people. 2 people will spend about 200 dollars including tax and tips.Again, highly recommended. Good dinner choice.

Disappointing, not consistent quality. In my opinion, Vargas is better. Only advantage Keg stays open late. But eating a stake that late ain't good idea anyways.

Very nice place. Good service. Had the burger this time around, and they are fantastic, but steaks? Well, just go and find out. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised. 😉

We came here by one of our friends’ recommendation, and it was incredibly good. My stake was juicy, soft and perfectly medium rare. I hav not found a better stake in Montreal, so far.(If there is, please let me know ;). )

Courteous staff, prompt service, food is consistently good, meat is always cooked as per instructions. Great vibe especially when a Montreal Canadiens hockey game is on! On cold nights, there is parking underground and parking is validated at security. Parking isn't free but they knock off a few dollars. Be aware where you park and which elevators you get out of as Place Ville Marie is huge and super easy to get lost.

The steak was on point and the service was great. I pointed out an issue with one our side orders and it was immediately replace. I laughed pretty hard in the inside as I was mentioning it in silence to keep it from the other table from hearing it but the waiter said it out loud. I've been going here many times and I've never been disappointed.

Absolutely amazing steakhouse. The food was high quality, the wine selection extensive, very well priced, and the service stellar. There was no inappropriate wait for food or service, everything from food checkups to wine pouring done without question and before I had the thought. The food was excellent, and the steak (baseball top sirloin for myself) was juicy, tender, and cooked exactly as requested. The brie appetizer I ordered was hot, gooey, and quite köstlich, to borrow a language I know better.

The keg is one of the classy high end dinner spots in Montreal. Such a perfect date spot. The food is amazing, portions size is great, the staff are very helpful, and the ambiance is wonderful. However it’s a bit pricey but totally worth it. The fried seafood starter( had calamari and some octopus) was REALLY good. I had the steak and fries and I loved it. Overall it was a great experience and I would visit again.
